Pixel pitch calculator

Pitch is the single biggest driver of what an LED wall costs, and it is the number most often over-specified. This shows you the three distances that matter for your space, and which manufactured pitch sits in the right place between them.

Your space

Why this is the expensive decision

Pitch is the number that moves an LED quote the most. Halving the pitch roughly quadruples the pixel count, and the price moves with it. Specifying finer than the room can perceive is the most common way a project ends up over budget for no visible gain.

Pitch for a 6m viewing distance

We'd specify
P2.6
Pixels vanish at 8.9m.
Pixel-perfect
P1.75
Individual pixels invisible at this distance. Usually overkill.
Legibility floor
P6.0
Coarser than this and it reads as dots, not an image.

Based on one-arcminute visual acuity — the standard 20/20 limit — so a pitch in millimetres becomes pixel-perfect at roughly 3.438 times that many metres. Content matters too: fine text and logos need a finer pitch than video at the same distance.
